Instructions for Authors

Committee members of IECON2016 invite researchers and engineers of all industrial electronics disciplines to submit their original manuscripts for regular tracks and Special Sessions.

Papers can be submitted to any of Technical Tracks or  Special Sessions.   Special Sessions are organized by the initiative of a person or a group of researchers for dealing with very specific and emerging topics. If you are interested in proposing a Special Session, please flllow the instruction on the page related to Special Sessions.

Authors must submit their manuscript electronically on the Web based manuscript submission and peer-review tracking system. Manuscripts should be within the scopes of the IEEE INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS SOCIETY and should report on new results and previously unpublished material. IECON2016 Call for Papers includes a detailed list of tracks and topics on which the conference program has been organized.

Authors should pay particular attention to documenting their work in relationship to the known literature.

All authors are advised to be familiar with IEEE guidelines before submitting their manuscript, including  Policy on Plagiarism and on Double Submission. Technical Committee will verify the originality of submitted manuscripts by using CrossCheck, which is an antiplagiarism software comparing submitted papers with previously published work worldwide. Manuscripts that violate IEEE’s publication principles will be immediately rejected. If the violation is deemed severe, then disciplinary actions may also be taken by IEEE.

Submitted manuscript to IEEE-IECON should be in PDF, double column format with a maximum lenght of six (6) pages including figures and references. Up to two (2) extra pages are permissible with an additional fee (EUR150/page) paid at registration time. Each accepted paper will require the payment of a regular (no student) registration fee. An additional paper (no more) could be linked with a previous registration, but additional fee must be payed (€ 200). Total file size for each submissison cannot exceed 10 MB.

The recommended format for manuscript preparation is LaTeXMicrosoft Office or LibreOffice files are also acceptable. The open source editor LyX is suggested for best LaTeX quality with the minimum editing effort thanks to its very easy and effective visual interface. Stunning graphics can be obtained using Inkscape, an open source Scalable Vector Graphics software.  You may use LyX, Inkscape, OpenOffice, Jabref (an useful tool for managing bibliographic material) and other Open Source software through a cloud server: RollApp.  Templates prepared by IEEE and some useful information can be found here.  Authors must adhere to the IEEE Conference written paper format. They must submit draft version of their paper for review before the due submission deadline (see "Important dates"), however, in order to avoid potential problems during last few days before deadline,  and/or useless delays in the review process, submission server overload,  all Authors are invited to submit their papers well in advance. All papers must be submitted through the submission system, which is entered from the conference website http://www.iecon2016.org/index.php/submission . IEEE is very strict about the requirements for PDF files for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library, but formal control is needed only during final submission of accepted papers, therefore IEEE PDF eXpress® service is not available for draft version of papers.  Papers must be prepared using the set of templates in MS Word and LaTeX format provided by IEEE  here. Please use them to create your paper, without modifying style and/or format.

Submit only original work, not previously published or copyrighted. Prospective authors are expected to submit only their own original works. The Conference will be using the CrossCheck automated screening system to help verify originality of papers. Submitted works may be compared to over 20 million articles in databases worldwide. Papers that violate IEEE's publication principles may be rejected, even if provisionally accepted during the review process. If the violation is deemed severe, then disciplinary actions may also be taken by IEEE.

Accepted and presented papers will be copyrighted to IEEE and published in conference proceedings, which will be eligible for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library, once it meets the requirements of an IEEE quality review. It will then be customarily indexed by EI Compendex.

During paper submission, Authors could be required to insert some personal informations (CV, photo, expertize, list of published papers etc): these informations will be used to improve the review process and later for registration purpose and for some other functions strictly related to conference management  (CV will be used by Session Chair to introduce you before presentation, photo for preparing your badge and program etc.). All these data will be managed in term of laws. We particularly recommend all Authors to list their expertizes very seriously: the quality of the review process greatly depends of these data as they allow TPC to assign conference papers to fully qualified reviewers throught crosscheck among keywords.  Please notice that IECON2016 is using a new conference management system which has been conceived aiming to offer advanced services to conference attendees and technical committee members. Its actual behaviour greatly depends on the quality of users' information, therefore it is of paramount importance to fill all fields with significant attention and responsibility.
